Bugaboo Provincial Park situated in the Purcell Mountains continues to draw climbers from around the world to its airy, glacier-sculpted granite spires. With many peaks over 3,000 m the Bugaboo’s offer awe inspiring mountain and glacier terrain. The area represents mountain wilderness at its most rugged, and includes the largest icefields of the Purcells.
 
The first ever commercial heli-ski week was pioneered here in 1965 by Hans Gmoser. In 1972, the Alpine Club of Canada erected the Conrad Kain Hut (named after the renowned alpinist) as a base for climbers. The Park is located in south-eastern B.C., between Golden and Radium Hot Springs. Access to the park is about 50km of gravel road from Hwy #95, starting 76 km south of Golden.
