Everything Golden: a growing mountain retreat
For real estate agent Marlon Chambers, living and working in Golden, B.C., offers grand rewards.
“It’s a great place to live. I’ve always liked the small town feel, but I’m a little biased,” he says, adding he was born in Golden, but moved to Calgary for 10 years in the late 1990s to enjoy a job opportunity.
“But I needed to get back to the mountains,” he says. So back he came. Over the past few years he has seen the town morph and grow. First with the advent of the world-class Kicking Horse Ski Resort, and then with a solid influx of sporty types wanting to find a full-time place to play, along with weekend adventurers from Calgary looking for a short commute to the ski slopes.
