The fire near protected areas close to Golden continues to evolve and we will bring you updates as we can. Fire crews are proactively managing the fire and authorities are working hard to safeguard protected areas.
There is no evacuation alert in place for the Town of Golden. Changes have been made to the evacuation order and alert for locations between Parson and the Town of Golden boundary.

The best way to keep track of reliable, up-to-date information during an emergency, including evacuation alerts or orders, is to monitor the Town of Golden website at www.golden.ca, the Town of Golden Facebook or Instagram. Also, you can sign up now for the Alertable system, which will issue Evacuation Order and Alert information to your smartphone, text, email or landline: https://www.csrd.bc.ca/alertable. Be sure to sign up in your locations for Columbia Shuswap Electoral Area A as well as the Town of Golden.
Highway 95 between Golden and Radium Hot Springs has reopened. Check the latest updates for travel advisories in the area and throughout the province at DriveBC.ca
Visitors in Golden and the surrounding area should keep advised of the situation by downloading the Alertable app to receive updates as they occur.
For those planning on camping several Recreation Sites have been closed, visit www.sitesandtrailsbc.ca to if the recreation site you plan on visiting is still open.

Please note that some businesses have temporarily closed out of an abundance of caution. Kicking Horse Mountain Resort remains closed for Friday, July 26th.
We are pleased to confirm that the Golden Skybridge and Golden Golf Club have reopened operations today, July 26th. We recommend you check directly with other activity operators, restaurants and accommodation providers for updates.
