Golden has four distinct seasons, each with their own virtues! Be prepared for your activities, check these responsible travel resources.

Golden Climate

Golden’s climate is on the top list of why people live in Golden. From the warm sunny days of spring giving birth to new life; to the bright colours of fall; bluebird powder days of winter; and the long hot days of summer. Here are some averages that will give you general seasonal guidelines:

  • Golden’s average summer temperatures measure between a high of 24.9°C/76.8°F and a low of 9.4°C/48.9°F.
  • Golden’s average winter temperatures measure between a high of -6.0°C/21.2°F and a low of -14.4°C/6.1°F.
  • The Town of Golden’s average annual snowfall is 184cm or 72.4 inches. Average annual snowfall at the alpine snow stations of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is 650cm or 256 inches.
  • On average, Golden receives 306.3mm or 12.1 inches of rain per year (less than one-quarter the rainfall of Vancouver).
